Nasarawa State pilot · North Central Zone

You sign up for yourself, in four short steps, in a few minutes. Nobody has to put you forward and nobody has to approve the form — the programme office verifies your National Identification Number, shortlists you and enrolls you in a cohort. There is no fee at any stage.

Who can sign up

The pilot trains 1,500 people across all 13 Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State. You must live in Nasarawa State and hold a National Identification Number. At least 50% of places are held for women, young people and persons with disabilities, so those registrations are actively encouraged.

What you need before you start

  • Your National Identification Number (NIN) — 11 digits.
  • Your date of birth and residential address.
  • A phone number we can reach you on. You will need it again to check your registration.
  • An email address, if you have one. With an email address and a password you open your learning account on the last step and are signed in straight away.

An email address is optional. Leaving it blank does not weaken your registration; we will use your phone number instead, and you can set up your account later with your reference and phone number.

What happens after you sign up

  1. The programme office verifies your NIN and shortlists you for a cohort.
  2. You are enrolled in one guided week of learning online, on your phone.
  3. The best performers of the online week are selected for the physical classes on 14 to 16 September 2026 in Lafia.

Priority is given to:

  • Priority to youth with basic literacy
  • A demonstrated intent to work in or through digital channels
  • A smartphone with mobile data; prior computer experience is not required

Business Development

Business Development Skills

400 places One week online, then two days at the centre

How to identify, ideate and execute a business: the common mistakes that sink new enterprises, how to learn and start rather than wait for perfect conditions, and using AI tools for market research and competitor analysis — built on the evidence that training which builds proactive initiative and simplifies financial practice into usable rules produces substantially larger gains than a conventional classroom course.

Priority is given to:

  • Priority to existing micro-enterprise operators, market traders and artisans with a trading activity
  • Cooperative members with a demonstrated business idea
  • Applicants not already selected for another stream, so that the 1,500 are 1,500 distinct individuals

How your information is handled

Everything you enter is processed under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 by the Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Capacity Development. Your NIN is encrypted the moment it is stored, is never shown in full on any screen, and is used only to confirm that you are who you say you are.

You are asked for four separate permissions on the last step of the form. Two are required for a registration to be processed at all; two are entirely optional and refusing them changes nothing about your registration.
