Digital stream

Digital Skills

A guided week online, phone-first and built for an ordinary smartphone: social media for income, finding opportunities online, and using AI tools for ideation, research and learning — then two days at the centre turning that foundation into a marketable specialisation.

Syllabus

Five subject units

Units one to three are covered in the guided week online; units four and five at the centre in Lafia.

Units one to three — the guided week online, 7–13 September 2026

  1. Unit one Online, on this platform

    What a smartphone can do

Digital identity and NIN services, cybersecurity, fraud awareness and safe online conduct, and mobile money and digital payments — the phone skills every stream after this one is built on, with no computer assumed at any point.

  2. Unit two Online, on this platform

    Social media for income

WhatsApp Business, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube as income channels rather than as entertainment: setting up a business profile, posting a product, and reading which posts actually sell.

  3. Unit three Online, on this platform

    Opportunities online

Freelancing and digital-services platforms, online selling and marketplaces, and finding and vetting a genuine paid opportunity versus a scam, all worked from a phone.

Units four and five — at the centre, 14–15 September 2026

  1. Unit four In person, in Lafia

    AI for ideation and research

Using free AI tools — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Studio — to generate business ideas, research a market and a competitor, and learn a new skill on demand, entirely on a phone browser.

  2. Unit five In person, in Lafia

Work readiness and a personal digital plan

Profile and portfolio building, proposals and client communication, receiving payments, and leaving the guided week with a dated plan for which of these channels the participant will pursue.
